Opened by logging companies and other extractive operations, this road cuts across sacred headwaters, Indigenous territories, and protected areas, affecting more than 30 Indigenous and traditional communities across the Yurúa and Alto Tamaya (Peru) and Alto Juruá (Brazil) regions.
